About me ….
Terri Michele King is a native Texan whose lifelong study of needlework began as a child at the knee of her mother, aunts, and grandmothers, whose warm hands guided her through her first stitches.
In 2015, she received a Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery from the esteemed Royal School of Needlework.
In 2024, she founded Terri Michele Fiber Arts Studio in Houston, Texas, which is dedicated to the art of needlework. She teaches embroidery and knitting classes for the beginner, seasoned, and experimental student, inspiring the discovery of the limitless creativity of fiber. Terri Michele Fiber Arts Studio hosts several themed social clubs to bring all levels of fiber arts together for community and inspiration.
Life unfurls like a grand tapestry, threads of laughter and tears, triumphs, and tribulations, intricately woven. Yet, the very medium that echoes this intricate dance – needlework – stands on the threshold of fine art, its true artistry often veiled.
I paint with thread. Every stitch a brushstroke, every knot a color burst, I translate emotions onto the canvas of fabric. My mission is to push the boundaries, to unveil the profound depths whispered within intertwined patterns and intricate textures.
The artistic tapestry, however, is never solitary. Each color choice, each intricate knot, is a thread woven with the diverse visions and techniques of fellow artists. We, in community, create a vibrant fabric of shared inspiration, enriching one another's visions and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. This exchange, this collaborative dance, is as much a part of my art as the needles in my hand.
Therefore, I stand not just as an artist, but as a storyteller. I stitch emotions into threads, memories into fabrics, and legacies into tapestries. Through needle and thread, I invite you to witness the vibrant soul of needlework, to see its power to move, to inspire, and to forever change the way you see the world.
